Part five of the Household Tech Saga. Robin loves his server at home; he doesn't love being its butler. So the family finds the elves: hosted open-source apps, the same ones Robin was running, kept running and updated for them on our servers instead of the cupboard. Every app is backed up with daily backups, and when something goes wrong you pick a date and restore it yourself, with no waiting for Robin. Each app gets a secure address on its own subdomain, behind your ElfHosted login, so Nana's phone connects like everyone else's. It's the easy route to apps without a server: all of the self-hosting without a server of your own. With ElfHosted Flex you pick apps from the Flex collection and swap one for another whenever you like; switching one off keeps its data. Almost every app and plan starts with a 7-day trial. The apps are open source; ElfHosted is not affiliated with their projects. The Household Tech Saga is a short animated series from ElfHosted about one family's tech: subscription soup, a server at home, the upkeep, and finding the elves. Each episode stands on its own; watch them in order in the playlist on our channel.
