https://video.elfhosted.com/videos/watch/f17636c0-8ee8-4613-8eef-20e724de4234 DroppedNeedle is a music request and discovery app built on MusicBrainz. Hosted on ElfHosted, it sits beside your Navidrome, Jellyfin or Plex. Run DroppedNeedle with ElfHosted, and there's no computer under the stairs to keep awake. We keep it running and updated, and your music requests and settings come through every update. It sits right beside your ElfHosted Navidrome, Jellyfin or Plex and finds them by name inside your stack, and it files your music into a folder on your own cloud storage. It's backed up daily, and you can restore it yourself whenever you need to. What is DroppedNeedle? A music request and discovery app built around MusicBrainz, and the successor to MusicSeerr. Search the MusicBrainz catalogue, request an album or a track, and it tags and files it in your library; then it plays through Navidrome, Jellyfin, Plex or local files, and scrobbles to ListenBrainz and Last.fm at the same time. We host the app, not the music: DroppedNeedle doesn't provide music, and you bring your own collection and your own storage. DroppedNeedle runs its own logins, so claim its admin account as soon as your instance is ready. Start with a 7-day trial. Stuck? Sam, ElfHosted's AI helper, is tuned on these apps and the way we run them: he safely reads your actual logs, tells you what's wrong and proposes a fix, and nothing changes until you approve it. Unlike a generic chatbot, he doesn't guess. And the ElfHosted team is on Discord around the clock, in a family-friendly, carefully moderated server: one place for support for every app you run with us, instead of a GitHub issue, docs that may be out of date, or yet another Discord per project. DroppedNeedle is open source; ElfHosted is not affiliated with the DroppedNeedle project. You can support its developer through the links below.
