Family password manager: one vault and a full night's sleep

The family password manager finale: a security fix comes out overnight and Robin sleeps through it. One hosted Vaultwarden for the whole family. Part four, the finale of The Password Reckoning. A Vaultwarden security fix came out in the night, and Robin slept through it: keeping up with security fixes is the elves' job now. Tess's vault opens at school all week, Nana's phone fills in her passwords, and the whole family uses the official Bitwarden apps with hosted Vaultwarden: the household logins shared, everyone's own kept private. It's a family password manager with nothing at home to guard. Then Barry tidies up the family logins and empties the bin. Robin asks Sam from the kitchen: Sam shows the backups he can see and asks first, Robin taps Approve, and the vault is restored to how it was last night, with a pancake in the other hand. Vaultwarden on ElfHosted is backed up daily, and you can restore a backup yourself from your dashboard, or ask Sam. A restore puts the whole vault back to the date you pick, so whatever was added since then is gone. Sam, ElfHosted's AI helper, is Robin's sidekick: tuned on our apps and the way we run them, he safely reads your actual logs and proposes a fix, and nothing changes until you approve it. When Sam can't help, the ElfHosted team is on Discord around the clock, in a family-friendly, carefully moderated server. Your vault is encrypted on your own device before it's saved: we host it, but we can't read it. Hosted Vaultwarden is part of the ElfHosted Flex collection: a Flex plan runs several apps from the collection at once, and you swap which ones whenever you like. Every Flex plan starts with a 7-day trial. Vaultwarden is open source; ElfHosted is not affiliated with the Vaultwarden or Bitwarden projects. You can support Vaultwarden's developer through the link below. For the full tour, watch our Vaultwarden explainer. The Password Reckoning is a short animated saga from ElfHosted about one family's passwords: from one password used on every site and sticky notes by the front door, to a vault on the laptop behind the telly, and on to a family vault the elves run. Each part stands on its own; watch them in order in the playlist on our channel.
