No home server. Run Plex with ElfHosted and your Plex Media Server lives in our data centre instead of a cupboard at home: it's on while you're away, it doesn't share your home upload, and we keep it running and updated. Claim it from your ElfHosted dashboard with a claim code from your Plex account, and every Plex app on the telly, phone and browser finds it at its own secure address. Hosted Plex is a Plex server without a home server: no hardware to buy, no ports to forward. What is Plex? A media server for your own films, home videos and music, with Plex apps on nearly every telly, phone and browser. You bring your Plex Pass (or Plex's Remote Play Pass, which Plex requires for any remote server) and your own cloud storage; your library lives in your storage, not with us. If Plex's database ever gets in a muddle, one setting runs Plex's database repair on the next restart. Hardware transcoding is available with a Plex Pass on Hobbit plans and above, as a fallback for devices that can't play a file directly; 4K is direct play only. ElfHosted hosts applications; we don't provide content. A media server is for your own media: home videos, things you own and have backed up, public domain and Creative Commons recordings. Plex comes in an ElfHosted Personal Media Stack, where you pick Plex as your media server, and every stack starts with a 7-day trial. It's backed up daily, and you can restore it yourself whenever you need to. If something goes wrong, Sam, ElfHosted's AI helper, checks your actual apps, tells you what's wrong, and asks before fixing it. Unlike a generic chatbot, which guesses and overcomplicates, Sam is tuned on these apps and the way we run them: he safely reads your actual logs and proposes a fix, and nothing changes until you approve it. When you'd rather talk to a person, the ElfHosted team is on Discord around the clock, across time zones, in a family-friendly, carefully moderated server. It's one place for support for every app you run with us, handled by professionals, instead of a GitHub issue, docs that may be out of date, or yet another Discord per project. Plex is a product of Plex, Inc.; ElfHosted is not affiliated with Plex.
