<description>Healthchecks is cron job monitoring on the dead man's switch principle: when a backup or script stops checking in, it emails you. Run Healthchecks with ElfHosted, and your monitor lives on our servers, not beside the jobs it watches, so a job that goes quiet at home still gets noticed, even when the power's out. It's reachable from anywhere with its own login, so jobs on a home server, a cloud machine or a laptop post their pings directly with one line of script. We keep it running around the clock and updated, with a secure address. Healthchecks itself is the work of the Healthchecks project. What is Healthchecks? Cron job monitoring for the jobs that are supposed to run on a schedule: backups, syncs, database dumps, scripts. Each check has its own ping address. Your job hits it when it finishes, and if a ping doesn't arrive on schedule, plus a grace window, Healthchecks emails you. It works on the dead man's switch principle, so silence becomes a signal, and every ping is logged so you can see a job start to drift. Signal a job's start and failure too, and a crashed run alerts you straight away. Hosted Healthchecks is new to ElfHosted and in Early Access. It's backed up daily, and you can restore it yourself whenever you need to. If something looks wrong, Sam, ElfHosted's AI helper, checks your actual apps, tells you what's wrong, and asks before fixing it. It's part of the ElfHosted Flex collection: a Flex plan runs several apps from the collection at once, you swap which ones whenever you like, and every Flex plan starts with a 7-day trial. Healthchecks is open source; ElfHosted is not affiliated with the Healthchecks project. If a check has Sam stumped, real people take over on the ElfHosted Discord, whatever your time zone, in a family-friendly, carefully moderated server. It's one place for support for every app you run with us, handled by professionals, instead of a GitHub issue, docs that may be out of date, or yet another Discord per project. Unlike a generic chatbot, which guesses and overcomplicates, Sam is tuned on these apps and the way we run them: he safely reads your actual logs and proposes a fix, and nothing changes until you approve it.
