What is Chaptarr? Audiobooks and ebooks in one collection

Chaptarr is a collection manager for audiobooks and ebooks in one instance, a Readarr alternative. Hosted on ElfHosted, set up for Audiobookshelf. With hosted Chaptarr on ElfHosted, it arrives set up: connected to your ElfHosted Prowlarr, with two root folders ready, one for audiobooks and one for ebooks. The audiobook folder is the one your ElfHosted Audiobookshelf plays from, and Chaptarr writes Audiobookshelf-style covers and details as it files each book: point an Audiobookshelf library at that folder once, add the Audiobookshelf connection in Chaptarr, and each book turns up with its cover (the docs walk through both steps). It runs with us, kept updated, behind your ElfHosted login. What is Chaptarr? A Readarr alternative that grew into its own project: one collection manager for audiobooks and ebooks, instead of one Readarr for each. It keeps multiple editions side by side, recognises narrators, runs its own working metadata pipeline, and can optionally turn multi-file MP3 audiobooks into a single M4B with chapters. Upstream describes Chaptarr as beta, under active development. Moving from Readarr? Point a fresh Chaptarr at your existing library folders and let it match what you have. Start with a 7-day trial. It's backed up daily, and you can restore it yourself whenever you need to. Stuck? Sam, ElfHosted's AI helper, checks your actual apps, tells you what's wrong, and asks before fixing it. Unlike a generic chatbot, which guesses and overcomplicates, Sam is tuned on these apps and the way we run them: he safely reads your actual logs and proposes a fix, and nothing changes until you approve it. If you'd rather ask a person, the ElfHosted team is on Discord around the clock, in a family-friendly, carefully moderated server: one place for support for every app you run with us, instead of a GitHub issue, docs that may be out of date, or yet another Discord per project. ElfHosted hosts applications; we don't provide content: Chaptarr includes no books, so bring your own accounts and use them lawfully. Chaptarr is open source, the work of its own developers; ElfHosted is not affiliated with the project.
