<description>A family Minecraft server at home: Uncle Darren builds one on the old PC, with crossplay and a port forward, then goes home. Part two of The Family Realm. Uncle Darren builds a family Minecraft server on the old PC in the basement: Paper for speed, crossplay plugins so tablets and consoles join the same world as the PCs, and port forwarding on the family router. Milo's friend on the tablet gets in, Tess's console friends get in, and the castle has walls again. Running a Minecraft server at home is a brilliant project, and Darren builds a lovely one. Then he goes home for Nana's roast, and the server stays with Robin, who has a job, a work call in a minute and a wall of red in the logs. The Family Realm is a short animated saga from ElfHosted about one family's Minecraft world: from random public servers to a server at home, and on to a family world that runs itself. Each part stands on its own; watch them in order in the playlist on our channel. When the family moves to ElfHosted, Sam, ElfHosted's AI helper, is Robin's sidekick: tuned on our apps and the way we run them, he safely reads your actual logs and proposes a fix, and nothing changes until you approve it. When Sam can't help, the ElfHosted team is on Discord around the clock, in a family-friendly, carefully moderated server. Paper, Geyser and Floodgate are open source; ElfHosted is not affiliated with Mojang, Microsoft, the Paper project or GeyserMC.
