What is Dawarich? Your own private location history map

Dawarich keeps your location history on your own instance and shows it on a map, with trips, travel stats and photos. Only you see it. Run Dawarich with ElfHosted: your phone needs somewhere to report to around the clock, and we keep that address on, so your location history keeps filling in wherever you go, with nothing at home to switch off. We keep it updated, with years of points, trips and stats surviving every upgrade, and if you run Immich with us too, connect the two and your photos turn up on the map where you took them. Dawarich itself is the work of the Dawarich project. What is Dawarich? An open-source Google Timeline alternative that keeps your location history on your own instance. It shows where you've been on an interactive map you can zoom and explore, builds trips, and works out travel stats like countries visited and distance travelled. Bring your past with a Google Timeline export from Google Takeout, or GPX and GeoJSON files; from then on, the Dawarich iPhone app, or OwnTracks and Overland on Android and iPhone, report in. Only you see your data, plus any family members you choose to share with. Hosted Dawarich is new to ElfHosted and in early access. Start with a 7-day trial. It's backed up daily, and you can restore it yourself whenever you need to. Stuck? Sam, ElfHosted's AI helper, checks your actual apps, tells you what's wrong, and asks you before fixing it. And when you'd rather talk to a person, our team is on Discord around the clock, in a family-friendly, carefully moderated server. Dawarich is open source; ElfHosted is not affiliated with the Dawarich project. You can support its developer through the link below. It's one place for support for every app you run with us, handled by professionals, instead of a GitHub issue, docs that may be out of date, or yet another Discord per project. Unlike a generic chatbot, which guesses and overcomplicates, Sam is tuned on these apps and the way we run them: he safely reads your actual logs and proposes a fix, and nothing changes until you approve it.
