<description>How to restore an app from a backup on ElfHosted: every app is backed up daily, and you can restore it yourself in ElfBot, or ask Sam from your phone. ElfHosted takes daily app backups: every app is backed up once a day, and there are two ways to restore one. To do it yourself, open your ElfBot dashboard, find the app's card, and click the "..." button. Choose Advanced, then Restore Backup. The dialog warns you that the app goes back to how it was on the date you pick, and whatever was added since is lost. Under "Choose a backup", pick a date: only backups that exist are listed, with their sizes. Type the app's name to confirm, then click "Restore from" that date. The app restarts, so give it a minute or two. Or ask Sam, the assistant in your dashboard, from wherever you are. Ask what backups an app has: Sam lists only the dates he can actually see in its backup folder. Pick one, and he shows a card that says what will be replaced. Type the app's name and tap "Yes, do it", and the app restores from that date in a couple of minutes. Picked the wrong date? Either way, a snapshot of the app is taken first and shows up in the list, so you can undo a restore by restoring that snapshot. Your media and cloud storage aren't part of these backups. And if you'd rather talk to a person, the ElfHosted team is on Discord around the clock, across time zones, in a family-friendly, carefully moderated server.
