https://video.elfhosted.com/videos/watch/667fc682-7c99-4b59-8c91-4a5f2210475a The family meal planning finale: Tess cooks Nana's lasagne from hosted Mealie, the list is on every phone, and Robin's on the sofa. Part four, the finale of What's for Dinner? Tess cooks Nana's lasagne from the app, and Robin isn't allowed in the kitchen. Nana's handwritten family recipes live in the family cookbook in hosted Mealie now: on Tess's phone in the kitchen, and on Nana's at her cottage, where she follows along from her armchair. Milo approves of the layers. The week's shared shopping list was on everyone's phone: Robin got the lasagne sheets and Maya ticked off the cheese in the aisle, and nobody rang anybody from the shop. A Mealie update came out that week, and the elves kept up with it, so the hall cupboard stayed shut and Robin spent the evening on the sofa. That's family meal planning that just works. Hosted Mealie is part of the ElfHosted Flex collection: a Flex plan runs several apps from the collection at once, and you swap which ones whenever you like. Every Flex plan starts with a 7-day trial. It's backed up daily, and you can restore it yourself whenever you need to. Mealie is open source; ElfHosted is not affiliated with the project. You can support Mealie's developer through the link below. For the full tour, watch our Mealie explainer. When the family moves to ElfHosted, Sam, ElfHosted's AI helper, is Robin's sidekick: tuned on our apps and the way we run them, he safely reads your actual logs and proposes a fix, and nothing changes until you approve it. When Sam can't help, the ElfHosted team is on Discord around the clock, in a family-friendly, carefully moderated server. What's for Dinner? is a short animated saga from ElfHosted about one family's recipes: from Nana's fading recipe cards and a shopping list on the wrong phone, to a recipe app on the laptop in the hall cupboard, and on to a family cookbook the elves run. Each part stands on its own; watch them in order in the playlist on our channel.
