<description>ReadMeABook is audiobook automation: it follows the authors you choose and organises audiobooks for Audiobookshelf. Hosted on ElfHosted. With hosted ReadMeABook on ElfHosted, the app, its database and its cache run with us, and every update and database upgrade is done for you. It's one hostname away from your ElfHosted Audiobookshelf and Prowlarr, on our internal network, and it sits behind your ElfHosted login. BookDate, its swipe-to-discover recommendations, runs on AI included with your plan, with no API key to find; if you'd rather use your own OpenAI, Claude or Gemini account, add its key instead, billed by that provider. What is ReadMeABook? Audiobook automation in the spirit of the collection managers people run for their media servers, built around audiobooks: it follows the authors you choose, works with the tools and providers you configure and are entitled to use, and organises the results so Audiobookshelf or Plex shows them properly. It's an alternative to running a Readarr instance just for audiobooks. ReadMeABook is new on ElfHosted (early access), so expect the odd rough edge. Start with a 7-day trial. It's backed up daily, and you can restore it yourself whenever you need to. Stuck? Sam, ElfHosted's AI helper, checks your actual apps, tells you what's wrong, and asks before fixing it. Unlike a generic chatbot, which guesses and overcomplicates, Sam is tuned on these apps and the way we run them: he safely reads your actual logs and proposes a fix, and nothing changes until you approve it. If you'd rather ask a person, the ElfHosted team is on Discord around the clock, in a family-friendly, carefully moderated server: one place for support for every app you run with us, instead of a GitHub issue, docs that may be out of date, or yet another Discord per project. ElfHosted hosts applications; we don't provide content: ReadMeABook includes no audiobooks, so bring your own accounts and use them lawfully. ReadMeABook is open source, the work of its own developer; ElfHosted is not affiliated with the project.
