Sam is the assistant that comes with every ElfHosted account, and he installs on your phone as an app, straight from the browser. On your phone, open Sam's own page: your ElfBot address with /sam on the end, and ask him something. Once he has answered, he offers to go on your home screen. On Android, tap "Add to home screen". On an iPhone, tap Share, then Add to Home Screen, then Add: on an iPhone, push notifications only work in the installed app. Next, Sam asks if he should shout when something goes wrong. Tap "Yes, keep me posted" and allow notifications when your phone asks. Nothing buzzes until you say yes to an app: the first alert from any app is held, and Sam asks "Want alerts from these?" so you choose which apps can reach you. After that, when an app stops answering, your phone says it needs a look, and when it recovers, the good news replaces the warning. Tap an alert and Sam opens with the question already written. Press send and he checks the app, reads its logs, tells you what went wrong, and can restart it once you confirm. Missed one? Recent alerts wait in Sam under "While you were away".
