Part six, the finale of the Household Tech Saga. The family still uses the same open-source apps on their phones, laptops and the family tablet, but the upkeep went to the elves. Robin is outside on a Saturday, in daylight: this is how you get your weekends back. He still tinkers, because that's the fun part. With ElfHosted Flex he can try new apps, swap one in, and switch it off again when he's done; its data stays put. When Milo gets stuck, Robin asks Sam, the assistant in the ElfHosted dashboard, from the garden: Sam looks at the app, says what's wrong, and asks before restarting it. That's running your own apps without the upkeep, for the whole household. Every app is kept running, updated and backed up daily, and you can restore a backup yourself. Almost every app and plan starts with a 7-day trial. The apps are open source; ElfHosted is not affiliated with their projects. The Household Tech Saga is a short animated series from ElfHosted about one family's tech: subscription soup, a server at home, the upkeep, and finding the elves. Each episode stands on its own; watch them in order in the playlist on our channel.
