Part three of The Photo Exodus. Two weeks after Uncle Darren built it, the NAS says a drive is failing, and the new one arrives the day Robin's away. The little light in the cupboard has gone orange. Then an Immich upgrade whose release notes say back up the database first, read at eleven at night. Face spotting runs all weekend and the photo app freezes. Milo's phone only backs up on the home wifi, because reaching the NAS from outside is a whole weekend of router and certificates. Robin knows how to fix each of these; what he hasn't got is the evenings. Darren's fixes are right, and each costs a weekend. The Photo Exodus is a short animated saga from ElfHosted about one family's photos: from full phones and scattered clouds to a NAS at home, and on to a photo library that runs itself. Each part stands on its own; watch them in order in the playlist on our channel. When the family moves to ElfHosted, Sam, ElfHosted's AI helper, is Robin's sidekick: tuned on our apps and the way we run them, he safely reads your actual logs and proposes a fix, and nothing changes until you approve it. When Sam can't help, the ElfHosted team is on Discord around the clock, in a family-friendly, carefully moderated server. Immich is open source, the work of the Immich team; ElfHosted is not affiliated with the project.
