<description>Hosted Jellyfin on ElfHosted: the free, open-source media server, run in our data centre with its own secure address. No box at home. Run Jellyfin with ElfHosted and there's no box under the stairs: Jellyfin runs in our data centre, kept running and updated whatever the weather, with no fans, drives or power bill at home. Every Jellyfin app signs in at its own secure address, from anywhere, and there's still no Jellyfin subscription to buy. Hosted Jellyfin means Jellyfin without a home server to mind. What is Jellyfin? The free, open-source, volunteer-built media server for your own films, home videos and music, with Jellyfin apps for the telly, phone and browser. Hardware transcoding (Intel QuickSync in the EU, Nvidia in the US) is available on Hobbit plans and above, as a fallback for devices that can't play a file directly; 4K is direct play only. ElfHosted hosts applications; we don't provide content. A media server is for your own media: home videos, things you own and have backed up, public domain and Creative Commons recordings. Pick Jellyfin as the media server in an ElfHosted Personal Media Stack, and Jellyfin Accounts comes with it for family invites; already run a stack with us? Jellyfin Standalone adds Jellyfin beside the media server you have, reading the same library. Both start with a 7-day trial. It's backed up daily, and you can restore it yourself whenever you need to. If something goes wrong, Sam, ElfHosted's AI helper, checks your actual apps, tells you what's wrong, and asks before fixing it. Unlike a generic chatbot, which guesses and overcomplicates, Sam is tuned on these apps and the way we run them: he safely reads your actual logs and proposes a fix, and nothing changes until you approve it. When you'd rather talk to a person, the ElfHosted team is on Discord around the clock, across time zones, in a family-friendly, carefully moderated server. It's one place for support for every app you run with us, handled by professionals, instead of a GitHub issue, docs that may be out of date, or yet another Discord per project. Jellyfin is open source; ElfHosted is not affiliated with the Jellyfin project. You can support its volunteers through the link below.
