Then he goes home. Part two of The Photo Exodus. Uncle Darren sets up a home NAS photo backup in the hall cupboard: a stack of drives in RAID, Immich in a container, and a fan that hums like it's paying rent. If a drive dies, the others cover for it, as long as someone swaps it in time. It works beautifully. Immich backs up the family's phones by itself, lays the years out on a timeline, pins photos on a map and sorts everyone's faces, so the family photo library finally lives in one place. Then Darren goes home, the NAS stays, and the first email about a data scrub arrives while Robin's in meetings. The Photo Exodus is a short animated saga from ElfHosted about one family's photos: from full phones and scattered clouds to a NAS at home, and on to a photo library that runs itself. Each part stands on its own; watch them in order in the playlist on our channel. When the family moves to ElfHosted, Sam, ElfHosted's AI helper, is Robin's sidekick: tuned on our apps and the way we run them, he safely reads your actual logs and proposes a fix, and nothing changes until you approve it. When Sam can't help, the ElfHosted team is on Discord around the clock, in a family-friendly, carefully moderated server. Immich is open source, the work of the Immich team; ElfHosted is not affiliated with the project.
